Multi-Platinum producer Aaron Johnson began his career on the audio side of the
music biz by hanging out at a studio in Southern California at the age of 17. Intrigued by
the way recording melded the technical and artistic mediums into one, he identified his
passion that evolved into his vocational goals: producing and mixing major label bands,
as well as developing bands that have not gotten the big break they deserve. As a touring
guitarist for over eight years, Johnson understands the necessary subtleties each band
member brings to the creation of great music. Simultaneously Aaron has a "song
perspective" from a production standpoint - he understands where a song needs to go for
it's full potential. Johnson attended the California Institute of the Arts as an undergrad.
Heading up the main studio at CalArts as teachers' aid he learned to work within many
artistic personalities and genres: jazz, rock, rap, film, and animation. Literally hundreds
of projects went through his faders. After college he moved to Denver, CO and began
freelancing as a producer, working with some of the best bands in Denver. Aaron wanted
to enrich his relationship with major labels , so he moved to New York City in 2001,
where he opened AJJA Audio, a private recording studio in the heart of Chelsea.

Aaron is best known for developing the now Epic records artist "The Fray" from 2003 to their signing in late 2004. One of the development demos "Over My Head (Cable Car)" (produced, mixed) rose through the charts on 2 of Denver's largest radio stations which culminated in a deal with Epic/Sony. Aaron stayed on for the production of "The Fray's" first album for Epic (How To Save A Life). Both singles "Over My Head" and "How To Save A Life" went Multi-Platinum and were nominated for Grammys. The album "How To Save A Life" has sold over 3 million copies worldwide. He has continued to work with The Fray, including production duties on their sophomore self titled 2009 release, which yielded the Top 40 hit "You Found Me", and also yielded two more Grammy nominations for The Fray. He has had a production hand in succesful indie artist Katie Herzig, Top 40 hit band Secondhand Serenade, mixing duties for the soundtrack of the motion picture "Brick", live album mixing for Cartel, and helped Denver favorites Meese to their signing at Atlantic Records.

Aaron relocated back to his home of Southern California in January of 2008, where he now resides.
